Mar 14, 2018 · Screenshots i.e pictures of the iPhone's screen, are taken in PNG format. It's a pretty universal format that all computers and most all devices understand and can display. There is no way to change this, and its always been this way. What issues are you having with PNG exactly? Photos taken with the Camera App, are in JPEG or HEIC, not PNG.

I can toggle settings on the phone photos to show heic or jpg format with Automatic or Keep Originals settings. Neither works properly.

Then I tried the import and it just ignores me when I click "import" after selecting the PNG file. If I select other files with the PNG file, import imports everything but the PNG file. This is new behavior with 10.4.10.

May 16, 2023 · Drop file into photo app on mac or airdrop to phone from mac. Find image on iphone and hold image and select SHARE>SAVE IMAGE. This will give you the transparent file. So with text (like a date) it sometimes works. Usually when you hold the image it wants to add a date on your phone since the iPhone thinks it's so smart. Hope this helps.
