The New York Central Railroad once operated an expansive 26,000-mile railroad system that connected the Great Lakes region to the Eastern United States. The New York Central System reached Fort Wayne via the Fort Wayne and Jackson line and for many years the railroad's famous 20th Century Limited passenger train traversed through Butler, Kendallville, and Waterloo, Indiana. LOCOMOTIVE 3001 STEAMS BACK TO LIFE! 🚂 🤓 Watch 119-year-old steam locomotive 3001 come back to life for the first time since the 1990s! 👏 The locomotive is nearing the end of an extensive three-year restoration by THNSW's fleet maintenance team based at the NSW Rail Museum. 🥳 The team are working towards having the locomotive ready for its first passenger service as part of next year's Thirlmere Festival of Steam. 🎥 Check it out! | Transport Heritage NSW

Testing of locomotive 3001’s new boiler has commenced at the Transport Heritage NSW Workshop in Thirlmere. 🚂 The boiler was steamed to its operating pressure of 160psi following a successful hydro test to 200psi (if you don’t know what that all means - basically, it’s good news)! 🤓 Congratulations to our workshop staff and volunteers! 👏 You can help us continue the job of bringing transport heritage to life.
