Gait Characteristics of Cavus Foot with Laterally Deviated Subtalar Joint Axis Pes cavus feet, more often than not, demonstrate lateral deviation of the subtalar joint (STJ) axis. This lateral deviation of the STJ axis creates excessive STJ supination moments when the foot contacts the ground and also throughout the remainder of the stance phase of walking gait. The evidence of these excessive STJ supination moments can be seen as excessive supination of the foot during gait in this video. In th
